Clark described Fishhook Rapids which they would tackle the next morning,
October 16: "at the lower part of this bason is a bad dificuelt
and dangerous rapid to pass...." On the 16th he reported on the
encounter with "bason Rapids." "passed the rapid with
all the canoes except Sgt Pryors which ran on a rock near the lower
part of the rapid and Stuck fast, by the assistance of the three other
Canoes She was unloaded without any further injury...." (See
