Interpretative panels, at sites along the trail, recount the trek. Many include excerpts from corps members' journals. Both Lewis and Clark followed rivers, but these were in areas not on the west bound trail. Highway and other road directions are for these side explorations unless the trail joins a west bound 1804-5 trail . See crpsrt2 for trail map.
