Above, navigational equipment used by the Captains to plot positions of geographic features was explained to visitors. Compass, chronometer, octant and sextant, right, were on display. Top right, how and what did the Corps eat? This demonstration revealed the varied menu. It included horse and dog! Interpreter Toussaint Charbonneau, and even Captain Lewis, gravitated to chef status.
