On
June 9, 1804 the Corps camped several miles below Glasgow. As they
measured the mouths of the of the two Chariton Rivers where they came
together at the Missouri. They no longer join. The Little Chariton
River, above and top left, flows toward the Missouri north of Glasgow
this access is several miles above the Missouri confluence at Lewis
Mill boat launch. Left, a boat easily pushes up the Missouri past
Glasgow. The L&C Expedition dodged trees and debris dislodged
from crumbling river banks. |
