Missouri Breaks
The BLM campground is located just above the Corps camp of May 29th, 1805. It's part of the BLM's Slaughter River Recreation Area. Top left, common yarrow; Captain Clark would find "great quantities" of this plant later when exploring the Missouri, Marias and Teton Rivers (see Teton R.). Clark originally named the Teton River the "Tanzey" - his name for the plant. Left, the view of cliffs across the Missouri from the BLM campground. The campground can be accessed only from the Missouri River.
