Lewis & Clark Trail Montana
McClelland Ferry to Coal Banks Landing-Missouri River

In June, 2009 I returned to Montana for the third straight year. This time I would be floating down the Missouri River, through the Upper Missouri Breaks National Monument. I chose to go with River Odysseys West out of Couer d'Alene Idaho,www.ROWadventures.com. From June 21-25 we paddled and floated 60 miles of the Missouri Breaks from put in at Coal Banks Landing to take out at McClelland Ferry. Our "corps" traveled in a 34 foot replica of a fur trader voyageur canoe plus two 17 foot 2 person canoes. Five excellent guides and a local Lewis and Clark expert made life exciting and easy for us. Of course we took the easy way - floating down river with the current. However, you will view the as Lewis & Clark did - east to west.
