Missouri Breaks
The Corps struggled up through rapids just below here May 28th, 1805. They hauled their craft over dangerous rapids using elkskin ropes, passing Kipp Recreation area May 25th, and camped a few miles below McClelland Ferry, top right, May 28th. Guide, Sarah Pernick, above, paddles our canoe toward the ferry landing. It was June 25th, our last day - about a month later than the Corps of Discovery slogged up river here.
