Cannon Beach Oregon
Clark's "village of 5 Cabins"(see previous page) was here at NeCus' Park, across Ecola Creek from Clark's camp. It's a playground now. Our Lewis & Clark Trail Heritage Foundation group learned Chinook cedar canoe history, far right. Some members got to practice "air paddling" in the sacred canoe, Dragonfly. The carved sculpture ponts a paddle toward the Pacific Ocean.
Lewis & Clark Trail
After viewing the whale skeleton, Clark's party returned to NeCus' village, on Ecola Creek, to barter for some of the blubber and oil the Killamuck were processing.
