Corps crossed to the south side of the Columbia River on November
26, 1805. The next day, fighting strong winds and heavy rain, they
came ashore on the west side of Tongue Point, in the background, above.
the bad weather continued: Clark, Nov. 28: "rained all the last
night. we are all wet our bedding and Stores are also wet, we haveing
nothing which is Sufficient to keep ourselves bedding or Stores dry"
