These
views of the Pacific Ocean are similar to those seen by members of
the Corps of discovery who joined the separate excursions of Lewis
and Clark to Cape Disappointment. Except for the North Head Lighthouse,
above and left, They would be familiar with these beach scenes. Top
left, looking west out to sea. Top right, The Forest Loop Trail, on
the west shore of Baker Bay, provides a view south to Cape Disappointment.
The explorers would see the ocean once they crossed the cape. |
