Crow Point, the Expedition's November 7, 1805 camp, is the far peak
in the bottom left and top right photos. It's about 5 1/2 miles down
the Columbia from Vista Park. The Star Kinn Bergen (Norway?) approaches
from the north side channel, top, and passes the park, above. Wind
and water molded these interesting tree knots. There are plenty of
places along the beach to see driftwood; however, these looked like
permanent trees - dead but rooted into the ground. |
