This
interpretive sign is in the kiosk at Vista Park, but it explores an
interesting point that took place at Jim Crow Point. The Corps camped
there on November 7, 1805. The actual campsite is inaccessible to
the public. The Columbia River is quite wide even here at Vista Park,
top left, well above the estuary. According to Captain Clark's journal
entries for November 7-8, 1805, the weather was very unstable with
fog, wind, high waves, and "some rain." - not great for
