Clark's "Wappato Island," now Sauvie Island, is on the right in the photo above. The Willamette River joins the Columbia just this side of the buildings to the left. The Interpretive sign and view is in a trailhead parking lot at Frenchman's Bar Park. The park is on the Columbia's north shore, across from the Willamette- Columbia confluence. WA HWY 501 west from Vancouver gets you there.
