Lewis & Clark Trail

The full trail map is located at the trailhead (see map section on previous page). The trail doesn't follow the river closely enough to use it as a reference point. I just kept following the trail leading north, northwest as it looked on the trailhead map. Captain Clark actually hiked from Rooster Rock to the Sandy River - Columbia confluence.

Maya Lin's Confluence Project at the confluence of the Sandy and Columbia Rivers includes a cylinder shaped kiosk supported by wood slats etched with the names of wildlife with the date noted by the Lewis and Clark Journals. The project sign, right, is located about 500 yards from the kiosk.
