flowers grow along the margin of a little creek that flows past Rooster
Rock. Private Whitehouse, along with Captain Clark, described the
Gorge terrain: "We...passed some high towers of Rocks & Narrow bottoms of land.... The Country...is Timbered land, the growth Spruce, Pine & some Oaks; & the soil very poor." |
