The
bridge, center, clings to the sheer face on the south side of Beacon
Rock. It's easy to see why Clark and Joseph Fields couldn't take advantage
af the rock's height to get a better view of their surroundings. Left,
a look down at HWY 14 as it winds past the base of Beacon Rock. Clark
might have been able to climb up far enough to get this glimpse west
to the Columbia River, above. |
