The
center is located 3 miles west of The Dalles on US HWY 30. The Wasco
County Historical Museum shares the building. The Lewis & Clark
exhibits cover highlights of the entire journey. Left, army uniform;
left center, typical army tent; right center, lead canisters of gun
powder. Lewis designed these to match the 4 lbs. of powder with the
number of shot with the 4 lbs. of lead when it was melted and molded.
Right, army muskets. Most of these items were worn out or used up
by the time the Corps reached The Dalles. |
