The
Corps of Discovery noticed a variety of avian life along the Columbia
River. I recorded a few at Celilo State Park. I wonder What Captain
Lewis would have jotted down in his journal concerning this scene,
top left? Antisocial behavior, or ostracism? Maybe it's doing rear
guard duty. Birds leave their calling cards on shoreline rocks, top
right. The Corps shot and consumed many birds, especially ducks, on
the Columbia River. |
