Wallula
Washington
The Walla Walla River meets the Columbia, above and right, about 16 miles southeast of Pasco and about a mile south of Wallula. Wallula Gap looms to the west on the Columbia, top left. Madame Dorion Park stands next to the Walla Walla, running next to the park and under the US HWY 12 bridge. The Corps passed here on Oct. 18, 1805, and camped here April 29, 1806. Here, Indians told them of a shortcut: "The Forgotten Trail."
The granite monument has more details of Madame Dorion's incredible life. Similarities to Sacajawea's life are is evident - including an LC team husband.
