numbered signs match the photos to their right. The complete list
of the Corps members, along with the identification numbers, is on
the next page. The sign is a bit weathered so the photos are about
as sharp as I could make them. Captain Clark is #4. Captain Lewis
is #19, and his dog, Seaman, is #25. Sacajawea is #24. Toussaint Charbonneau
is #3, and difficult to see next to him, is the tiny figure of his
son, Jean Baptiste, #2. Pierre Cruzatte, one of Corps the fiddle players,
is #7. George Drouillard, a valuable interpreter and hunter, is #8. |
