| Clockwise from top left, I followed the footsteps of the Corps up the ravines and across the ridges. Being one person with one vehicle limited my exploration to a couple miles out and a return to the Wagonhammer Springs Trailhead. There is no original trail left. Trail markers approximate the most logical course. These views were shot on September 10th - about the same time of year as the original trek. An interpretive sign note says the area looks about the same as it did in 1805. |
