Salmon Idaho
The small center houses artifacts from Shoshone culture that should be protected from the weather. The rest is situated on trails along the Lemhi River. A stroll through the area gives you a glimpse of what a village might have looked like when The Corps appeared. Above, a hunting village similar to the one that welcomed Lewis August 13, 1805. A partially finished fish trap stands in the foreground.
Center
Clark, with his reconnaissance crew, came across a fishing village similar to this replica, on his way to examine the Salmon River. It was located on the Lemhi River a few miles south of this site. Center, an Agai Dika [Salmon Eaters] saddle on display in the cultural center. An eagle flag graces the sky along the path, above.
