Lemhi Valley - Tendoy Idaho
The sign and creek are located a few miles north of Tendoy on ID HWY 28, near Baker, ID. It's on private property so I could only photograph the section that I could see from the highway. Clark, with 11 corps members, trekked north searching for a western route to the Columbia River. A Shoshone- called Toby by Lewis and Clark- and his son acted as guides. They would remain with the Corps for about two months. Captain Clark's search for a nearby route west, down the Salmon River, continues on pages ahead. Start at lct169c for Clark's exploration of the Salmon River west, on August 22-23, 1805.
