We
were trekking south on HCO when a young man on a classic tractor rode
up with bottles of Gatorade for us! Jason Temoke tells expedition
leader, Lee Bergthold, about his tractor. He works the Temoke Ranch,
founded in the 1870's, with his father, Frank, and a brother. Frank
invited us to camp in a vacant pasture and use old hay to soften our
tent floors. Jason, led by his dog, right, heads out to fix the pasture
for us. |
