HCO turns south at the junction of NV HWY 229 and 767. It follows this paved road until it ends near Lutts Creek, top left, and bottom right. The creek crosses the beginning of County Route 788, a dirt road which continues south down the Ruby Valley. These tumbling creeks had plenty of water in May, when we passed, but may have had less in September when most travelers passed. These ranch horses browsed in the pasture as our team passed by. They became curious, top right, and followed us until they came to a cross fence.
