Continuing north on HCO, May 26, 2006; day 21. Another storm front
caught up with us. The snow level crept down the Ruby Mountains,
top right. Smith Creek joined Huntington Creek in a wet spring flow.
Together they washed out the road at the confluence, above. Smith
Creek is a main artery for the west central Ruby Mountain drainage.
Even in August, Finley McDiarmid noted the size of this creek, right.
Our team lined it's tents along a fence line, in tall sage, to protect
them from the high winds of the storm, middle right. Expedition
leader Lee Bergthold inspects for damage the morning after.
