Clark Return Trail
Two modes of travel on the river exhibits, above and top right, relate to Clark's crew. A bullboat made of buffalo skins and bent twigs was constructed at Pompeys Pillar by 3 men, when all horses stolen, to catch up with Clark. Two log canoes lashed together
by Clark's ingenuity carried the party down the Yellowstone on the 1806 return trip.
