Lewis Return Trail
The Alice Creek Road follows the creek through the Alice Creek Valley on its climb to its termination roughly 10 miles north from its beginning at MT HWY 200. A Helena National Forest campground and interpretive panels are at the road's end. Lewis averaged 25-30 miles a day along the Bitteroot River. July 7, the crew covered 32 miles from Beaver Creek, up Alice Creek, and over "L&C Pass."
