On the morning of July 6, soon after leaving Monture-Seaman Creek, Lewis noted several hills protruding from the valley floor. He listed several trees and shrubs growing in the area that "are common in the prarie of knobs." He saved samples. His designation or an existing geographic reference? I don't see it named on standard Montana maps. A rest area at Clearwater/Blackfoot Rivers Junction on HWY 200 has an informational kiosk with area information.
