Parkville Missouri
On July 29, 1804 the Corps of Discovery left Kaw Point at 4:30 PM after holding a court martial for two members accused of stealing whiskey out of camp supplies. John Collins received 100 lashes and Hugh Hall 50. Collins got double because he'd been on guard duty. The sign at Parkville tells how they saw the Little Platte River which met the Missouri here then. Now they meet upstream from here. Left photos, down the Missouri. Up the river, above.
