The
Lincoln School class provided a superlative description of the Roe
River. It's popular to lump "Lewis and Clark" together,
almost as one person. Thus, "they" - as one - discovered
Giant Springs and Roe River. In fact, Captain Clark described the
spring in his journal on June 18th, 1805 (see next page). Captain
Lewis was busy setting up the Lower Portage Camp. Photographs are
