Lewis & Clark Trail - Montana
Great Falls
Top left, the view of the Missouri River, looking toward Black Eagle Falls, from the main floor. One exhibit in the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail Interpretive Center displays military equipment used by the Corps of Discovery, left. By the time they reached the Great Falls there wasn't much left of their military uniforms.
A symbolic Commemorative Quilt hangs on the wall of the main stairway. Artistic credit goes to Tresa Labunetz of Great Falls. Eleven panels depict Corps events. The center panel depicts the Jefferson Peace Medal, above that is the bitteroot flower, named for Lewis, now, the Montana state flower. The newly discovered mountain sheep is left of Peace Medal.
