Great Falls
The Corps set up the Lower Portage Camp on the south bank of the river(far bank), top left. The Captains chose Belt Creek, their Portage Creek, to start moving supplies around the falls. Right, the confluence of Belt Creek and the Missouri River from the Sacajawea Spring Trail. This would have been Lewis's view too. Belt Creek, above, at the staging area for the portage. The view is downstream, toward the Missouri.
