From Grand Bluffs I took HWY 94 back to HWY 100, on the south side
of the Missouri. The town of Chamois, a little more than half way
between the May 29 and May 30 camps, had an L&C information
sign. There was one on HWY 94 0n the opposite side of the river
- but far from it. Chamois is right on the river - My first choice
always when possible. Luxuriant growth right to the river's edge
and spring flow debris were familiar sights to the Corps of Discovery.
Hwy 100 continued west past the May 30-31 campsite at St Aubert
. Although near the highway, I found no signs locating the site.
On to Clark's Hill and Osage City. Turned off HWY 100 . It turned
south so I took HWY's A and C to US HWY 63 and cut north on a local
road to Osage City.
