						The Grand Bluffs signs explain details much better than I could. For the traveller following the trail, but not really studying it, these signs are a great help in understanding why these sites were important to the explorers. Notice the debris in the river, top left. As the river rose with spring runoff, the boats had a difficult time navigating safely by these barriers.
