| The salt was transferred into closed buckets , top left, for transport to Fort Clatsop. By February 21, 1806, when the saltmakers departed, they had produced about 3 bushels of sea salt. Personal items of the period added to the authentic atmosphere. The early 19th century US flag waves in the ocean breeze with Tillamook Head in the background. |
