visited the "Station Camp" site in 2007 that had one interpretive
sign (see two previous pages). I returned October, 2018 for a Lewis
& Clark Trail Heritage Foundation conference and discovered an
expanded Middle Village-Station Camp Park. It now has a wealth of
local history, especially Chinook and other indigenous tribes, as
well as the Lewis and Clark story. Clark thought the village was abandoned,
not knowing it was a summer camp for trading with ships and other
tribes. |
