This 37ft x 78ft red cedar plankhouse is close to Clark's description. Archeologists have found evidence of one measuring 40ft x 200ft. Doubled tiered benches, left, lined the walls. They were used for storage and sleeping. Since the Chinooks hunted, fished, and foraged, they worked with many tools to manufacture nets and traps, above. When I visited, students were learning craftsmanship in all phases of Chinookan life.
