| There
are two ways to return to the Oregon side from Captain William Clark
State Park, on HWY 14 in Washington: Continue west and cross the Columbia
on I-205, turn east on I-84 and use exit 44 to reach Cascade Locks;
or return east on WA Hwy 14 and cross on the "Bridge of the Gods"
right into town. At the Marine Park Visitors Center this impressive
Sacajawea, baby Jean Baptiste, and Seaman sculpture group greets you.
Local artist Heather Soderberg designed these bronze creations. They
are the most romanticized versions of these figures I've encountered
on the trail. |
