Manuel's "Council Fire on the Columbia" is one of the few
Lewis and Clark exhibits at the center, top left. The sculpture's
realistic quality conveys a "You are There" feeling. The
ancient pictograph, above right, is from the collection at Horsethief
State Park seen on a previous page. The Corps bivouacked about a mile
and a half down river from the interpretive center on October 30 -
31, 1805. |
