Lewis & Clark Trail
Maryhill State Park
This park is off WA HWY 14 just past the town of Maryhill. The Corps floated down the Columbia, past this point, on October 22, 1805. They had bivouacked a few miles up river. The boat crews were battling rapids every day since entering the Columbia River. Top left, the rapids have been tamed by a series of dams. Right Canadian geese take advantage of a vacant beach in the park. Signs give information about the Expedition's experience in the area.
