This
park is off WA HWY 14 just past the town of Maryhill. The Corps floated
down the Columbia, past this point, on October 22, 1805. They had
bivouacked a few miles up river. The boat crews were battling rapids
every day since entering the Columbia River. Top left, the rapids
have been tamed by a series of dams. Right Canadian geese take advantage
of a vacant beach in the park. Signs give information about the Expedition's
experience in the area. |
