| Almota, right. Almota Creek flows into the Snake on the right side of the photo. A bridge crosses it at the spot where the Corps camped. It was the fall salmon season. In Undaunted Courage, Stephen Ambrose described the production: "The Columbia and Snake River system...produced more salmon than any other river in the world." The Snake River curves west, above. |
