This
landing, a few miles northwest of Nisqually John Landing, still shows
a wide, placid body of water. This section of the Snake River is called
Lower Granite Lake. Lower Granite Dam, northwest of this spot, has
tamed the rapids and sandbars the Corps had to negotiate as they proceeded
west. The hills on both side of the river haven't changed much, except
for wheat farming. Top right, the view northwest (down river) from
Blyton Landing. |
