Lewis & Clark Trail
Exhibits include copies of classic paintings and replica instruments with interesting explanations. The sextant note points out its importance for finding longitude and latitude. It states that Captain Lewis took readings for the entire journey, except for cloudy nights. He also did most of the scientific writing, such as describing flora and fauna in detail. Captain Clark applied his surveying skills to creating the maps of the Expedition's journey to the Pacific Ocean and back again.
