As
you drive down US HWY 12 from Powell, You'll see this interpretive
sign across from Wendover Campground. The Corps left the Lochsa River
here and passed a pond before ascending Wendover Ridge. The Captains
named the pond after Private Joseph Whitehouse. The campground is
a great place to stay to enjoy the river and the pond. A trail just
east of the sign leads to the lake, but tangled brush borders it.
A little bushwhacking is necessary to get to the edge for a good view.
