An interpretive sign on US HWY 12, a couple miles west of Lolo
Pass, tells the story of this trail section on the return journey.
An ample turnout allows you to park and walk around, surveying the
scene. The view is to the north. The Corps angled southeast, crossed
the highway, and retraced their steps through Packer Meadows. They
bivouacked that night at Lolo Hot Springs.
