Trail
Lolo Montana
A 1/2 mile trail loops around the campsite. Lolo Creek, Lewis's "Travellers rest" Creek, flows east to meet the Bitterroot River, left. A typical teepee used by many Native Americans when they camped here, on their way east or west. None were present when the Corps stayed there for two days in 1805 and three days in 1806. Three Nez Perce men did pass through the camp, in 1805, in pursuit of Snake Indian horse thieves.
