When
Captain Lewis and Chief Cameahwait returned to Camp Fortunate, over
Lemhi Pass, The Shoshone village moved a few miles south to Kenney
Creek. The photo, top left, shows the area at Kenney Creek where the
village may have been. It's private ranch property now. The Lemhi
River, flowing from the south, above, and north toward the Salmon
River, left. Clark and some Corps members, including Sacajawea, arrived
at the Kenney Creek village on August 20th, 1805. Lewis and the rest
of the Corps remained at Camp Fortunate to cache supplies not needed.
