Lewis' "...most distant fountain of the waters of the mighty Missouri..." lies adjacent to the Sacajawea Memorial Area. A sign invites you to replicate McNeal's stance a couple miles down stream. In fact the actual source of the Missouri lies over 100 miles southeast of this spot. As mentioned at McNeal's spot, a few pages back, I set a foot on either side of the "Mighty Missouri" here. Montana's state flower; the forget-me-not, right.
