HWY 2 takes you south from Three Forks, past the Drouillard boat ramp,
and along the Jefferson River. At Cardwell, County Road 359 crosses
the river and gives access to a boat ramp where I saw this osprey
nest. Mother was rounding up food for her babies. The nearby Jefferson
River (bottom two photos on previous page) looks much like it did
when Lewis and Clark- in separate camps - bivouacked near here on
August 1, 1805. |
